About the Herbal Heretic

Bell Rock Path Sept. 2012

A freelance writer and marketing communications professional, I specialize in writing about herbs, plant and flower essence therapies, medicinal cooking and all things wild and wonderful in the world of botany.

An amateur herbalist and flower worshiper from the age of five, when a neighbor showed me her herb garden, I’ve had a lifelong fascination with nature’s power to heal. Back then, in a fast food world, eating a fresh sprig of thyme out of a garden seemed so, well, heretical! I’ve loved and wanted to get to know everything there is to know about my plant friends ever since.

I was born and raised on Long Island, NY and spent my adult years in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland, Oregon. I now live in Sedona, Arizona, high up on a mesa, overlooking the thrilling abundance of the southwest naturescape.

I am on a continuing journey of bringing the wisdom of plants to inform and facilitate the mystical beauty of the human experience of health and healing.
